Dermaplaning

No downtime, no recovery, and the smoothest your skin has felt in years.

Dermaplaning uses a sterile surgical blade held at an angle to sweep away dead surface cells and the fine vellus hair — peach fuzz — that sits on top of them. What's left is skin that catches light instead of dulling it.

Why people keep coming back for this one

It's the treatment clients are most skeptical about and most loyal to afterward.

Makeup sits differently. Foundation goes on smooth instead of catching on fine hair. This is the reason a lot of people book it before events.

Products work harder. You've just removed the barrier of dead cells that was blocking absorption. Your serums finally reach live skin.

Instant brightness. Vellus hair traps light and dulls the complexion. Removing it produces a noticeable change in how skin reflects light.

Zero recovery. Nothing to hide, nothing to wait out. You walk out ready for whatever's next.

What it helps with

  • Dull, rough or flaky skin
  • Makeup that never quite sits right
  • Fine lines made more visible by dry surface skin
  • Poor product absorption
  • Unwanted facial peach fuzz

Two ways to have it

As a standalone treatment — about 30 minutes A full appointment. We cleanse and prep properly, dermaplane the whole face in careful sections, then finish with a treatment mask and the serums your skin needs. Because dermaplaning clears the barrier of dead cells blocking absorption, that finishing step does considerably more work than it would on untreated skin — which is the whole point of doing it as a full service rather than a quick pass.

As an add-on — about 15 minutes Added to the start of another treatment. Dermaplaning first means whatever comes next goes into cleared, receptive skin. It pairs particularly well with BREEZE or DiamondGlow, and it's the most common way clients build it into a regular routine.

What it feels like

We work in small sections with the blade held at roughly a 45-degree angle. It feels like a soft scraping — most people compare it to a very light shaving sensation. There's no pain and nothing sharp is ever pressed into the skin.

Slight pinkness for a few minutes afterward, then you're done.

The hair question, settled

No, it does not grow back thicker or darker.

This is the single most common worry and it's a myth. Vellus hair is genetically programmed to a set thickness and color. Cutting it doesn't change the follicle. What people are noticing is that the blunt cut end of regrowth can feel coarser than the naturally tapered tip for a few days — it feels different, it isn't different.

Terminal hair (the coarse hair on the chin and upper lip in some people) is a separate hair type and dermaplaning doesn't affect it either.

Who shouldn't have it

  • Anyone with active, inflamed or pustular acne — the blade can spread bacteria across the face
  • Active cold sores or open lesions
  • Very reactive rosacea in an active flare
  • Anyone on isotretinoin (Accutane) within the last six months

If you have acne, we'll steer you toward a treatment plan built for that instead.

Pricing

Pricing is confirmed at your consultation, once we've looked at your skin and agreed on a plan. Treatment length, the serums or settings we choose, and any add-ons all affect the cost — so we'd rather quote you accurately than guess.

Common questions

How often can I have it?

Every four to six weeks, which lines up with your natural skin cell turnover cycle.

Can I just do this at home?

Please don't. The blades sold for home use are duller and the angle is nearly impossible to hold correctly on yourself — which is how people end up with nicks, irritation and uneven results.

Will it help my acne scarring?

Not meaningfully. Dermaplaning works on the surface only. Scarring sits deeper, and a course of medical-grade peels is the better conversation — come in and we'll look at it properly.

Can I get it before a wedding?

Yes — book two to three days before. That's long enough for any pinkness to settle and short enough that you're still perfectly smooth.
